The Family Fun Day has been hosted by the Hopkinton Recreation Committee for the past 19 years! Many thanks to the sponsors, volunteers and the Hopkinton Fire and Police Departments for their continued support. Join us at Riverway Park in Contoocook for the July 4th events!
July 4th Schedule of Events
9 am-tbd Farm Market at Riverway Park
9:30-11 am Drop off Tooky Cookie Entries at the Cookie Tent at the Contoocook Riverway Park
11 am Kids Parade starting at the Contoocook Riverway Park Pre-registration at 10 am at the Registration Tent. Decorate your bike, scooter, wagon, or yourself! Prizes for the best decorations!
11:30 am Independence Day Parade. View from anywhere on Park Ave./Rt 103 in Contoocook Village. If you would like to have your antique car, float, or any car be part of the parade, line up before 11 am at the Hopkinton High School. There are rules about people on floats and in the back of open cars while traveling down the road. Parade travels through Fountain Square towards Contoocook Village Cemetery. Tooky Cookie Bake-Off Information!
Drop off cookies, recipe and entry form to the Cookie Table at Riverway Park on Thursday, July 4th from 9:30 am - 11 am. Official rules and entry form can be found by clicking the link below. We will hold a kids and adult contest. Cookies are judged on Flavor, Appearance, Minimal Crumble Effect (it holds together) and Patriotic Design. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 places.

Parade Information:
-11 am line up at the Hopkinton Middle/High School. Enter via Park Ave. and you will be directed to the staging area.
-Parade starts at HMHS and ends at the Contoocook Cemetery. The parade approx. 1 mile.
- Anyone can participate: walkers, cars/trucks, animals, floats, tractors.
-At the end of the parade, you must pick up your non- registered vehicle with your trailer. You cannot drive your non-registered vehicle on the road after the parade.
-Nothing is to be thrown out of the vehicles. If you want to hand out candy/toys/etc, you must have a person walk and deliver those items to the hands of the people in the crowd. The refill station for those items must be stored in the rear of your vehicle.
- Floats require a weight-supported handrail. If you are seated in the float, it must be 18” high. If you are standing, it needs to be 36” high.
