Join the Rec Dept.'s Picklball Program!Who: All those 18+  who know how to play or want to learn.  All skill levels are welcome.What: The Recreation Dept. offers outdoor Pickleball as a "self-led" Pickleball program for all those who wish to have access to the portable Pickleball nets and meet fellow Pickleball players.  Those who sign up for the program will have access to the equipment in the spring, summer and fall and can play during the designated Pickleball times or at other times as first come, first served.  Registrants can also play on the indoor courts at Harold Martin in the winter.Where:  Outdoor Pickleball courts are located at George Park 297 Park Ave. Contoocook (beside the HMHS).  Harold Martin School in Hopkinton provides a winter location in their Multi-purpose room. When:  Each person can use the pickleball equipment  and courts during the designated pickleball program times in the spring, summer and fall or as first come, first served at other times but we ask that you avoid HYSA's tennis program times.  How to Register:  Those 18+ are welcome to register below, agree to the standard waiver and pay the one time $25 registration fee.  The one-time $25 registration fee provides access to the Team Reach App and use of the Town Pickleball equipment. Stay active and strong on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 am at the Slusser Center.  Drop-ins are welcome and this class is free to all.  Donations are accepted.
 
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM    Quilting & Crafts - Quilting & Crafts
Bring your quilting projects (and your machine) or other crafting projects to the Slusser Center on Thursday mornings at 10 am and enjoy quilting and crafting in a group setting.  The group typically quilts until 3 pm, so bring your lunch! There is someone always willing to help if you have a question on your quilting project, but this is not a teaching or instructional class.  This is a free program and drop-ins are welcome, pre-registrations are not required.

Hopkinton Youth Track Program for 2026-Powered by Elite Feet & the Hopkinton Runners Society -- Join us Thursdays and Sundays this spring to learn the keys to running faster, jumping higher and throwing further! Using proven developmental drills and fun games, join multiple NCAA track & field coaches and collegiate student-athletes as they look to share their decades of experience competing at the highest levels with Hopkinton’s grades K-6!  Focusing on a new movement theme each week, your little athlete will be safely taught a series of fundamental functional movements that can be used in any sport or physical activity! K-6th grade — Thursday 6 -7pm & Sundays 4-5pm: Will focus on a progression of simple to complex movements throughout practices, introducing new track & field events each week. The athletes will apply their new skills through hands-on experiences. The athletes will not only learn the basics but provide opportunities to discover which events and discipline they enjoy most. Hopkinton Youth Track Program for 2026-Powered by Elite Feet & the Hopkinton Runners Society -- Join us Thursdays and Sundays this spring to learn the keys to running faster, jumping higher and throwing further! Using proven developmental drills and fun games, join multiple NCAA track & field coaches and collegiate student-athletes as they look to share their decades of experience competing at the highest levels with Hopkinton’s grades K-6!  Focusing on a new movement theme each week, your little athlete will be safely taught a series of fundamental functional movements that can be used in any sport or physical activity! K-6th grade — Thursday 6 -7pm & Sundays 4-5pm: Will focus on a progression of simple to complex movements throughout practices, introducing new track & field events each week. The athletes will apply their new skills through hands-on experiences. The athletes will not only learn the basics but provide opportunities to discover which events and discipline they enjoy most. Hopkinton Youth Track Program for 2026-Powered by Elite Feet & the Hopkinton Runners Society -- Join us Thursdays and Sundays this spring to learn the keys to running faster, jumping higher and throwing further! Using proven developmental drills and fun games, join multiple NCAA track & field coaches and collegiate student-athletes as they look to share their decades of experience competing at the highest levels with Hopkinton’s grades K-6!  Focusing on a new movement theme each week, your little athlete will be safely taught a series of fundamental functional movements that can be used in any sport or physical activity! K-6th grade — Thursday 6 -7pm & Sundays 4-5pm: Will focus on a progression of simple to complex movements throughout practices, introducing new track & field events each week. The athletes will apply their new skills through hands-on experiences. The athletes will not only learn the basics but provide opportunities to discover which events and discipline they enjoy most. Join the Rec Dept.'s Picklball Program!Who: All those 18+  who know how to play or want to learn.  All skill levels are welcome.What: The Recreation Dept. offers outdoor Pickleball as a "self-led" Pickleball program for all those who wish to have access to the portable Pickleball nets and meet fellow Pickleball players.  Those who sign up for the program will have access to the equipment in the spring, summer and fall and can play during the designated Pickleball times or at other times as first come, first served.  Registrants can also play on the indoor courts at Harold Martin in the winter.Where:  Outdoor Pickleball courts are located at George Park 297 Park Ave. Contoocook (beside the HMHS).  Harold Martin School in Hopkinton provides a winter location in their Multi-purpose room. When:  Each person can use the pickleball equipment  and courts during the designated pickleball program times in the spring, summer and fall or as first come, first served at other times but we ask that you avoid HYSA's tennis program times.  How to Register:  Those 18+ are welcome to register below, agree to the standard waiver and pay the one time $25 registration fee.  The one-time $25 registration fee provides access to the Team Reach App and use of the Town Pickleball equipment. Hopkinton Youth Track Program for 2026-Powered by Elite Feet & the Hopkinton Runners Society -- Join us Thursdays and Sundays this spring to learn the keys to running faster, jumping higher and throwing further! Using proven developmental drills and fun games, join multiple NCAA track & field coaches and collegiate student-athletes as they look to share their decades of experience competing at the highest levels with Hopkinton’s grades K-6!  Focusing on a new movement theme each week, your little athlete will be safely taught a series of fundamental functional movements that can be used in any sport or physical activity! K-6th grade — Thursday 6 -7pm & Sundays 4-5pm: Will focus on a progression of simple to complex movements throughout practices, introducing new track & field events each week. The athletes will apply their new skills through hands-on experiences. The athletes will not only learn the basics but provide opportunities to discover which events and discipline they enjoy most. Join the Rec Dept.'s Picklball Program!Who: All those 18+  who know how to play or want to learn.  All skill levels are welcome.What: The Recreation Dept. offers outdoor Pickleball as a "self-led" Pickleball program for all those who wish to have access to the portable Pickleball nets and meet fellow Pickleball players.  Those who sign up for the program will have access to the equipment in the spring, summer and fall and can play during the designated Pickleball times or at other times as first come, first served.  Registrants can also play on the indoor courts at Harold Martin in the winter.Where:  Outdoor Pickleball courts are located at George Park 297 Park Ave. Contoocook (beside the HMHS).  Harold Martin School in Hopkinton provides a winter location in their Multi-purpose room. When:  Each person can use the pickleball equipment  and courts during the designated pickleball program times in the spring, summer and fall or as first come, first served at other times but we ask that you avoid HYSA's tennis program times.  How to Register:  Those 18+ are welcome to register below, agree to the standard waiver and pay the one time $25 registration fee.  The one-time $25 registration fee provides access to the Team Reach App and use of the Town Pickleball equipment. Once your registration is complete, you will be put in touch with one of the Pickleball volunteers who will assist you with the Team Reach app (if you desire to join that), go over the equipment storage and usage, and offer you an initial lesson if you do not know how to play. Want to play outside in the spring, summer and fall without joining the Rec Dept.'s Pickleball program?:  Hopkinton residents are welcome to use these courts at any time as first come, first served but will need to bring their own portable net, rackets and balls.

Garden Design 1 June 139-11 amSlusser Center$352 hour lecture with in class activitiesThis introductory class will guide you through the essentials of creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces that fit your style and environment. Whether you’re starting from scratch or enhancing an existing garden, this class will cover key principles of layout, color theory, plant selection, and seasonal planning. You’ll learn how to consider factors like sunlight, soil, and water needs to create a balanced and sustainable garden. Perfect for beginners and experienced gardeners!  Bring a layout (graph paper or Google map) of your personal spot that you wish to landscape.  Stephanie will guide each of you to create a layout design for your area._______________________________________________________________  Garden Design 2 July 259-10 amSlusser Center$10 (which will go toward cost of plants) On site evaluation of Slusser CenterIn this class we will discuss how to evaluate a location at the location.  We will look at the building and grounds as well as traffic patterns and other aspects that require consideration when designing a site.  This site evaluation and design will be used to complete the project with plantings later in the summer._______________________________________________________________  Garden Design 3 September 139 amSlusser CenterIt’s time to plant…. The Slusser has been in need of a gardening facelift and today we are putting the plants in the ground.  Come and help us beautify this piece of Hopkinton.  We will need diggers, fertilizers, planters, weeders etc.  Come for an hour or two.  Many volunteer hands make light work! About Stephanie Green of Goldenrod Garden Design...Stephanie Green has been a Hopkinton resident since 1990.  She has certifications in Permaculture and Native Plant and Horticultural Ecology and was the lead garden designer at Black Forest Nursery.  She is the owner of Goldenrod Garden Design here in Hopkinton which focuses on residential and commercial Garden Design and specializes in utilizing native New Hampshire plants.  She has one of the first certified pollinator gardens in the state and was featured on NH Chronicle as the designer of the Bridges House Garden in Concord, the home of all New Hampshire sitting governors.  When she is not creating beautiful gardens, she is a Sociology professor at Plymouth State University or is at home with her six dogs. 
 
10:00 AM - 6:00 PM    Kimball Pond Swimming - Kimball Pond Resident Swimming
We are happy to announce that the Town of Hopkinton will be opening Kimball Pond on June 13th!    General information:Kimball Pond will be open for the 2026 season from June 13 - August 8. Kimball Pond is located at 58 Rollins Road and can be used by all Town of Hopkinton/Contoocook residents and their guests.  Proof of residency may be requested upon arrival.  The Pond is open seven days a week from 10am - 6pm, weather permitting.  We will do our best to post closures at on the Recreation Facebook site The Pond is staffed with trained and certified Lifeguards between the hours of 10am - 6pm.  Due to staffing limitations on certain days, swim at your own risk or deep end restrictions will apply.   On days when there are only 2 lifeguards available, they will announce "swim at your own risk" each hour at 20 minutes before the hour.  After their reset of 20 minutes, they will again resume their lifeguard positions at the water's edge.  Thank you for your understanding as we work through this change in pond management.The pond has no running water but does have two port-o-johns for patron use.There are designated swimming areas and swimming is to be done within those areas.   Kimball Pond Beach Rules: The Pond is for Hopkinton residents and their guests only. Proof of residency may be required. Open hours for the Pond are 10 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week, weather permitting. All users must remove their cars from the parking lot at 6 pm or risk being locked in for the night. Users may park outside the gate after 6 pm and before 10 am. If lifeguards are not available during the open hours, Swim at Your Own Risk will be in effect. In the event of thunder or lightning, swimming is prohibited for 30 minutes after the last event. Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult. When leaving the beach, take your chairs, toys, noodles, etc. with you. Swim pants/diapers must be worn at all times. Disposable diapers are not permitted. Ensure your trash is placed in the trash receptacle. Glass bottles are not permitted. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted at this facility. Smoking can be done outside the green entrance gate. Sand castles, holes, etc., should be filled in before leaving the beach. There is no throwing of stones/rocks/sand. No horseplay in or out of the water is allowed. Swimming is only permitted within the swim lines. Diving is not permitted from any area. The annual swim test is required for those under 13 wishing to swim in the deep end. All boating (with life vests) and fishing are to be done outside the swim lines. Leashed dogs under the control of their owners are allowed outside the swim lines. Owners must clean up after their pet.   Portable grills and fire pits are by permit only through the Rec Dept.
